​Jim Matei worked as a commercial fisherman for years as well as a marine engineer around the world. He recognized the disappearance of many types of marine life and the exponential growth of ocean dead zones. After 25 years of research, he discovered that dissolved oxygen is a major issue regarding the disappearance of marine life.
Continued research of current methods of dissolving oxygen into seawater and fresh water were not practical.
